The Sonoma Coast is among California's most unique growing regions and is quickly becoming a premier growing source for growing Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris.

The Sonoma Coast is a newly emerging wine region in California. Encompassing 750 square miles, the growing region extends from the Mendocino County line in the North to the Sonoma-Marin border in the South. It overlaps Carneros and intersects Sonoma Valley, Sonoma Mountain, and the Russian River Valley.

The growing region offers a unique climate zone and is the coolest in Sonoma County. It gets cool, moist air from the Pacific Ocean, and cooling winds and fog from the Petaluma Wind Gap. There is intense soil variation ranging from gravelly clay to sandy loam to marine fossils. As a result of these unique characteristics, the Sonoma Coast is becoming a premier source for growing the Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris varietals.
