Our Pinot Noirs

2009 Sonoma Coast

90 pts, The Wine Enthusiast- July 2012

From the Sonoma Coast wine region, this Pinot Noir has elegant varietal fruit character, with rich aromas and flavors of raspberry, cherry, red current and boysenberries. Hints of mushroom are supported by a subtle oak influence. This wine will evolve into a silky and smooth wine with time in the bottle.

The 2009 vintage began with a mild winter and cool spring, followed by a long, moderate growing season. Heavy rains in May were followed by almost two weeks of warm, sunny days, a boon for the early flowering vines. A few heat spikes in late summer led to an early harvest ahead of October’s rain. Overall the vintage produced exceptional quality fruit with good flavors, color and complexity.
